Biography

Dr. Sullivan is the Director of the Metabolic and Bariatric Program in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is the past chair of the board of the Association for Bariatric Endoscopy, a Division of the ASGE. Since 2013, she has given over 100 invited lectures on obesity and endoscopic bariatric therapies in the US and abroad and has participated extensively in ASGE’s endoscopic bariatric therapies didactic and hands on courses Dr. Sullivan was course co-director for the first and second ABE Annual Courses, and she has served as faculty at every ABE annual course through 2020. She has been faculty for the each of the Endoscopic Bariatric Therapies courses held at the ASGE ITT Center from 2016-2019.  Dr. Sullivan was a course co-director for the ASGE Bariatric Endoscopy Hands-On sessions at Digestive Disease Week in 2016 and 2017 and was course faculty in 2018 and 2019.  She has also coordinated the quarterly ABE Webinar series.  Dr. Sullivan was honored to be a course co-director for the ASGE Postgraduate Course at DDW in 2019 alongside her distinguished colleagues Dr. Sreenivassa Jonnalagadda and Dr. Gregory Ginsberg. Dr. Sullivan has started training fellows both at the University of Colorado and rotating fellows from outside the university in comprehensive obesity treatment including endoscopic therapies. In her role as chair of the board for the ABE, she is leading the development of a multi-module Bariatric STAR Program with the ABE board members. This STAR program will teach endoscopists both the fundamentals of obesity treatment and the skills for needed for the use of endoscopic bariatric and metabolic therapies in practice.
