Glenn D. Littenberg, MD, FASGE, MACP, established a solo private practice in Pasadena, CA in 1978 which grew gradually to a group of four, working out of Huntington Memorial Hospital where he was President of the Medical Staff and won best teaching awards from the medical house staff.
Largely in pursuit of answers to practice management problems, Dr. Littenberg became involved in coding, billing, regulatory and political advocacy efforts in the 1980s, schooling himself in health policy and health administration. This led to long-standing involvement in California and national internal medicine societies, leading to an eight-year term on the AMA CPT editorial panel and to receipt of Master status with the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Littenberg has served on ASGE Committees (chaired Practice Management Committee 2008-2015, Reimbursement Committee 2015-current), is ASGE's CPT Advisor and was a course director for three years at the GI Outlook (GO) Practice Management Conference. He is a founding board member & Chief Medical Officer of inSite Digestive Healthcare, in which his group of six is now part of a statewide group of 54, the largest independent GI group in California.
