Please read these policies carefully before using the Web site. By accessing or using the Web site, you agree that you are competent and of age to enter into this Agreement and to be bound by the terms and conditions below. If you do not wish to be bound by these terms and conditions, you should not access or use the Web site.

The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) presents the information on this Web site as an educational service to the public and to our members. While the information on this site is about health care issues and gastrointestinal endoscopy, it is not medical advice. People seeking specific gastrointestinal endoscopy advice or assistance should contact an ASGE gastrointestinal endoscopist through the ASGE’s "Find a Doctor" program on the Web site or from another source.

ASGE Web Site Linking Policy

The ASGE provides the ASGE Web site linking policy as a resource for the public and ASGE members.

Linking to ASGE.org or Screen4coloncancer.org

Advance permission to link to www.asge.org or www.screen4coloncancer.org is not necessary. We encourage external Web sites to link to either the homepages of ASGE Web sites (www.asge.org or www.screen4coloncancer.org) or to any of the interior pages and documents of ASGE Web sites, adhering to the following rules:

  1. Same browser window. Any Web site may link directly to an ASGE Web site or any interior page. Using this method, control is transferred from the originating Web site to the Web site maintained by the ASGE.
  2. New browser window. Any Web site may link to an ASGE Web site or any interior page by opening a new browser window that displays the ASGE’s content. Using this method, two (or more) browser windows are open (one from the originating Web site and one or more containing information from an ASGE Web site).
  3. Web sites may not link to ASGE Web sites using frames (presenting the ASGE Web site content/page so that it is framed within the originating Web site). You may not give the impression or create the illusion that ASGE content is under another domain name or location.
  4. Web sites may link directly to the main patient information page at For Patients. Web sites may not link directly to specific ASGE patient education information pages. It must be clear to the site visitor that they are visiting an ASGE Web site and that the content is provided by ASGE.

Links from ASGE Web Sites to external, non-ASGE sites

ASGE provide links to other Internet sites only for the convenience of site visitors. ASGE is not responsible for the availability or content of these external sites, nor does ASGE endorse, warrant or guarantee the products, services or information described or offered at these other Internet sites.

This site may contain links to other sites. ASGE is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. The user will know when he is leaving asge.org because a different browser window will open.
