Dr. Jason Samarasena is an Associate Professor of Medicine and a board-certified Interventional gastroenterologist. He is the Associate Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is currently the Program Director of the UC Irvine Interventional Endoscopy Fellowship and was recently named the Teaching Attending of the Year by the UC Irvine Gastroenterology Fellowship. He recently completed an Executive MBA at Paul Merage School of Business. His research interests include Endohepatology, advanced endoscopic imaging in Barrett’s Esophagus, Artificial Intelligence and novel endoscopic device development.
