Roy Soetikno, MD, MASGE

Biography

Dr. Roy Soetikno MD, MSMSM is a practicing gastroenterologist with over 20 years of experience, having previously served as the chief of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Palo Alto VA Healthcare System and professor of medicine at Stanford University and Duke-NUS Medical School. He is currently a visiting professor of medicine at UC San Francisco and adjunct professor at University of Indonesia in addition to facilitating lectures and hands-on workshops around the globe. After completing his Executive MBA degree at Stanford University in 2017, Dr. Soetikno leveraged the principles of business and design strategies to develop robust simulator-based training courses for a wide range of endoscopic techniques. Dr. Soetikno has published over hundreds of peer-reviewed articles on endoscopy training as well as several key works on the endoscopic management of nonpolypoid colorectal neoplasms and inflammatory bowel disease. In 2014, he was awarded the highest honor from the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the Master Endoscopist Award, in recognition of his impactful contributions to the field of endoscopy and endoscopy training.
