ASGE has endorsed the ESD Fellowship Hub, a groundbreaking educational initiative aimed at advancing endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) techniques across Africa and the Middle East. Known as the ROEYA Educational Project, this initiative is set to make a significant impact on the region's medical community. Notably, the ROEYA Educational Project covered the cost of ASGE membership for all participating individuals.

The Hub’s virtual phase commenced with the “Meet the Faculty” event in May. The virtual training, conducted over the first three weekends in June, comprised three sessions and saw the participation of 18 attendees and 23 experts, marking a successful start.

The hands-on training phase is scheduled from August 15-August 25. Participants will benefit from two full days of practical sessions, working directly with experts in their own countries. This hands-on training will be held in six locations: Egypt, Morocco, Kuwait, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

This comprehensive program is designed to enhance the skills of medical professionals in these regions, improving outcomes and expertise in endoscopic procedures.
