Global Highlights: ASGE's Travel and Member Engagement

ENDOCON 2024, New Delhi, India

ASGE teamed with the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India (SGEI) in April for ENDOCON 2024, focusing on “Inventions, Insights and Innovations in GI Endoscopy.” ASGE faculty, including Prateek Sharma, MD, FASGE; Michelle Anderson, MD, FASGE; Kenneth F. Binmoeller, MD, MASGE; Martin Freeman, MD, MASGE; and Nalini Guda, MD, MASGE, shared their expertise. Highlights included a successful ASGE exhibit booth, a vibrant member reception, a hands-on technician training program and the ASGE Postgraduate Course, which covered bile duct stone clearance, enteral stenting and GI bleeding management. A special session on AI in endoscopy offered future-focused insights.

ESGE Days 2024, Berlin, Germany

ASGE was happy to join ESGE Days 2024 in Berlin in April, marking the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's (ESGE) 60th anniversary of advancing endoscopy. Jennifer Christie, MD, FASGE, and Dr. Sharma were invited to present at the ASGE-ESGE joint session on promoting a “greener” endoscopy world. Colleagues and members visited the ASGE exhibit booth, where they exchanged ideas and explored the latest advancements in the field.

JGES-ASGE Joint Symposium, 107th Congress of JGES, Tokyo, Japan

In May, ASGE partnered with the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) for the JGES-ASGE Joint Symposium at the 107th Congress of JGES in Tokyo. Dr. Christie served as the moderator, guiding discussions on critical topics in endoscopy. Larissa Fujii-Lau, MD, presented Recognition and Management of Complications Due to Endoscopic Ampullectomy, and Uday Navaneethen, MD, FASGE, explored The Role of Cold Snare Resection of Duodenal Adenomas – The Future?

ASGE’S Partnership With WEO at ENDO 2024, 4th World Congress of GI Endoscopy, Seoul, Korea

ASGE played an instrumental role in the success of ENDO 2024, held over the July 4th weekend. Organized by the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) and the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the event welcomed 3,200 delegates from 84 countries. ASGE’s partnership was integral to the Congress’s achievements, and the positive feedback from attendees highlights its impact on advancing GI education and innovation.
