ASGE Research Grants are offered to investigators (MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent) for projects in basic, translational and clinical research with a relationship to gastrointestinal endoscopy. The ASGE is particularly interested in research pertaining to (in no particular order): colorectal cancer screening, Barrett's esophagus, endoscopy training, health disparities, quality measurement and improvement, endoscope reprocessing and infection control, endoscopic sedation/anesthesia, bowel preparation, novel endoscopic treatments for obesity, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and other endoscopically-guided imaging/interventions. The research committee will consider funding pilot projects if there is an explicit outline for subsequent projects, and their funding plan (e.g. NIH, VA Merit), based on the preliminary data generated by the proposed pilot. Diversity and inclusion are integral to ASGE’s mission of advancing the field of gastroenterology research.
