MIPS 2022 Reporting and 2024 Payment Penalties
On August 10, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) made available 2022 MIPS performance feedback, which determines whether physicians will receive a positive, neutral or negative payment adjustment on Medicare services furnished in 2024.

ASGE supports efforts to promote equitable physician compensation for the workforce. Equal compensation should include pay, benefits, clinical and administrative support, clinical schedules, institutional responsibilities, and support for researchers.

Comment on 2024 Proposed Medicare Payment Policies
ACG, AGA and ASGE submitted recommendations to CMS for improving practice issues and payment rates for gastroenterologists next year. Our comments were in response to CMS’ 2024 proposed rules.

The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has released the first evidence-based guideline on ergonomics in endoscopy, recommending doctors receive work safety education and use properly positioned equipment to lower their injury risk.
